Hotel Preeti is the best option while at Matheran. It is a cosy place set atop a small hillock at a 2 minutes walking distance from the railway station.
Best option is to take the toy train alight at the station and ask anyone for Hotel Preeti. It is full on weekends and lot of canvassers from other hotels will urge you by saying the hotel is full or even demolished. Ignore such canvassers and ask railway staff on how to go to Hotel Preeti.
Rooms are basic as in any budget hotel. Even in Hotel Preeti, the tariff is higher on weekends. If you are visiting Matheran on a weekday,check for their cheap tariff.
Food at Hotel Preeti is decent, but I would suggest going to Gujarat Bhavan for lunch (it is a long walk - but charm of Matheran are the long walks)

place so silent no disturbance there at all nice climate wonderful place and good hotel.
