A typical ride starts towards late afternoon and ends at noon the next day.

Honestly, it is difficult to explain the experience in a houseboat. It is relaxing, invogorating ..basically calms your senses and lets you feel at ease with nature (more specifically water).

On Kerala houseboats, the best part is when you keep looking at people (villagers) on either shores working industriously during the day and the absolute calm in the night.

The food (it's best to specify your Veg/Non-veg preference before the boat takes off) is amazing and one can choose how private your ride needs to be. The crew just keeps away to a far corner and lets you be by yourself unless you want to actually chat up with them for any info about the place or the ride.
