The rates are as follows:

1. A/C. Cottage with TV, Hot water, Fridge & Private Balcony.DBLR. 2 pax.
....Rs.1,500/-
2. Non A/C. Cottage with TV & Pvt. Balcony......Rs. 650/-
3. A/c. DBLR. with TV & Hot water Deluxe - 2pax....Rs.1,200/-
4. Non-A/C. DBLR. 2 pax.std. .....Rs. 400/-
5. Addl. Occupancy for A/C. Rs.200/- and non-A/C. Rs.150/-.

The above rates are inclusive of all taxes. BUT, you will NOT receive any bills. And you have to pay the entire amount in cash.

You may get a free Railway station pickup. But, for return you need to arrange of your own. But, there are plenty of autos plying through the road.

The food quality is not good until unless you are looking for food prepared in Coconut oil. After repeated requests also we were served foods prepared in coconut oil (once it was prepared in Palm oil; this is OK).

Mr. Chacko, as a person may be good (as it is posted in other reviews).
But, I felt that he is bit less professional in his attitude.

He has got his own House Boats and can also arrange for motor boat, Shikara etc. on requests. He was very nice till the time he was expecting us to travel in his house boat. Once he realized that we will not travel with him, he was bit different.

I got a very cheap deal (Rs, 2300/-) than what he was quoting (RS. 3500/-). This is for a day cruise (from 11 am to 6 pm) with Non-Veg food.

He has got internet facility also. Charges - Rs. 60/hour. In case you do not want to use internet, but just want to use his computer to transfer photos from your digital camera to pen-drive, you need to pay minimum 30 mins usage charges. This somehow I could not appreciate.

One more thing which I could not appreciate: I was taking bath when Mr. Chacko came and insisted that he would like to paint the window (bathroom) from outside. Even when I said, I just need 5 mins, he did not obliged and asked his person to start the work.

Last but not the least, you can not have food at your comfortable time when you are at Tharayil Tourist Home (in case you are taking food from hotel). In the menu card they say that the order has to be given 2 hours in advance. But, when I approached Mr. Chacko at 7 pm and requested the dinner to be served by 9 pm, Mr. Chacko refused it saying it will be too late for him. The time he offered was 8:30 pm. I can not think for a hotel dictating guests for their food timings.

Things to remember:
1. There is no power backup and there will be power cuts. So carry a torch, candle and match box.
2. There are mosquitoes. So, carry ointments, repellents etc.
