I frequent Bandipur quite often (so much so that Travelpaisa editor has requested me to write about Bandipur). In my opinion, Jungle Lodges run Bandipur Safari Lodge is the best bet at Bandipur.
1. Cottages at Bandipur Safari Lodges are clean, spacious and ideally located. You may not have the usual resort comforts like Swimming pool, a/cs etc - but who needs them while you are at Bandipur
2. Tariff at this resort is reasonable as it includes a well planned itinerary including the open jeep safari. Well trained naturalist accompany you and this is a real big advantage
3. Jungle lodges being associated with Forest dept. means you can plan your trek and they can issue necessary permissions. If you plan to undertake any treks check with them before making a booking.
4. Food served is okay - easily the best available at Bandipur and their "GOL GHAR" restaurant is as good as it can get
The only issue is that it is not easy to book as you need to go to Jungle Lodges office in person
