I had visited Nisargadhama with a team of 12 members.The stay at Nisargadhama was simply amazing and mind blowing.Didnt believe a place like that existed.We got a beautiful cottage in front of the river for 600 bucks and six girls could stay in there.There were blankets,mosquito repellants,24 hrs hot water facility.The only thing missing was a TV but we really didnt care as the scenery was beautiful.None wanted to leave the cottage nad go for sight seeing.You would be lucky to see a deer in front of your cottage.There is a deer park inside anyways and the entire resort takes up a huge area of Kushalnagar.The walk through the forest was amazing.Sadly everytime we want to go back the resort is full!!!

Cauvery Nisargadhama is on the small island formed by river Kaveri. It is popular as a day trip from Mercara, but I would suggest stay in the log huts put by the Forest Dept. Everything about this place is divine. You enter the Island thru a bridge which will test your spirit of adventure as it is wooden bridge tied to trees!
The entire place is serene and there are lots of walkways where one can indulge in true nature walks. The forest department organizes elephant ride thru the thick Bamboo grooves and this is something one should not miss.There machans now and then and a climb atop of the machan will give you breath taking views of the cauvery and the surrounding scenery.
Accommodation is in the form of thatched cottages, regular resort. Forest Dept will also help you set up a tent if you can convince them you know what you are doing. Do not expect 5 star luxury in these forest department cottage. They provide enough for you to enjoy nature and also the tariff is not hard on your pocket. Also food is just about palatable.
I strongly recommend stay at Cauvery Nisargadhama. You need to coordinate with Forest Dept to get the booking. Contacting them prior to reaching there is advisable. To reach there take a bus to Kushalnagar and you can easily reach Nisargadhama with local transport. If you are driving down it is off Mysore – Madikeri highway.
