Need to understand Reviewed by manjrekar, 2007-08-06 For those who have not been to Matheran earlier you need to understand that Matheran is a hill station where vehcles are not allowed. They terminate at a place called Dasturi (where there is car parking). Main attractions in Matheran are good 4 Kms away from Dasturi and most attractions commences from Railway Station All resorts except MTDC are located around Railway station or near the points. That being the case, MTDC is attractive for those who want to jump onto the room as soon as they reach Matheran. That said, rooms are not in best of shape
In real bad shape Reviewed by mandrake, 2007-06-02 We booked into MTDC as it is near TAXI Stand. For all other resorts, you will have to take horses/hand pulled chair to go to that resort. I saw Deluxe Room and nothing great. So I went to economy room and was unclean. I will not recommend MTDC in Matheran.
