Wayanad in Kerala is a district and not the name of a town. Key destinations at Wayanand are Kalpetta / Vythiri and Manathavadi (Tholpetti Wildlife Sanctuary).

Kalpetta and Vythiri can be reached from Bangalore Via Gundulpet. Manathavadi can be reached from Bangalore via Nagarahole/Kutta.

Bangalore to Wayanad (Sultan Bathery/Kalpetta / Vythiri)

Bangalore to Wayanad Road Map : Bangalore - (Mysore state highway) - Maddur - Mysore (turn left toward Ooty/ Nanjangud before entering the city) - Nanjungud - Gundulpet - (Turn Right) - Sultan Bathery - Kalpetta - Vytheri

Bangalore to Wayanad distance : 285 Kms
Condition of Road : Good with lot of scenery. Road from Gundulpet onwards is thru' thick forests.

Bangalore to Wayanad (Tholpetti Wildlife Sanctuary)

Bangalore - (Mysore state highway) - Maddur - Srirangapatna - (Turn right) - Hunsur - Turn into Nagarhole road immediately after Hunsur bus stand - Nagarhole (Rajiv Gandhi National Park) - Kutta - Tholpetti Wildlife Sanctuary

Condition of Road : Good except in patches. Scenic route thru' thick Nagarhole forest. Animal spotting (elephants and deers) possible.

Nagarhole road is open only between 6 AM to 6 PM

Bangalore to Wayanad (KSRTC Buses)

Rajahamsa buses are available at 17:00 ; 18:00 and 22:00. These buses go to Wayanad enroute to Kozhikode/ Ernakulam.
