Dubare Elephant camp is one of the interesting resorts of Jungle Lodges. Resort is located on a small islet of river cauvery. You need to cross the river in a boat. If you are travelling in a car, don't worry Jungle lodges have made arrangements to safely park your car.

The resorts resemble cottages with a courtyard that offer view of the river. The ones ahead of the "Gol Ghar" Dining hut offer better view of the river. Insist on those cottages if they are available. There are hammocks for each of the cottages and is the best place to relish the natural surroundings.

Evening Safari on day one is interesting. The forests of Dubare are pretty dense and hence animal sightings are not very common. There are also some teak plantations of Forest department and one can observe how human plantations are indeeed inefficient when compared to nature's own forests. Naturalist, Uday, is well informed and safari turns to be very interesting with him.

Day 2 begins with a coracle ride and the highlight of stay commences at 9:30 AM when elephants are got to the river by their mahouts. Children will just love washing the elephants and pulling their ears. Elephants are pretty playful and will shower the kids with water from their trunks. Elephant interaction programme is something no child will forget in a hurry.

Overall it was a great experience. Food served was also excellent. I strongly suggest Dubare elephant camp especially if you have children in the age group of 3 - 10 years
