Nagarhole National Park

Nagarhole national park, now officially called 'Rajiv Gandhi National Park' is the pride of Karnataka wildlife sanctuaries. It is easy to spot elephants and deers at Nagarhole. If you are lucky, even spotting a tiger is possible. The unique aspect of Nagarhole is that forest gate from where the safari starts is in itself deep inside the forest. Thus, there is a mini safari even before the actual forest department organized safari. Unfortunately, there are not many public transportation that will take you to Nagarhole forest gate and thus you need to have your own vehicle

Within the Nagarhole forests, only premium resorts are available. Budget travelers need to stay at either the forest department guest house or stay at homestays at Kutta or at Srimangala

6AM - 9 AM and at 3PM - 5 PM

Bangalore to Nagarhole

Bangalore - (Mysore state highway)- Srirangapatna - (turn right) - Hunsur - (Turn left on the road immediate to Hunsur Bus Stand) - Nallurpalla - (take the right fork)- Nagarhole

Bangalore to Nagarhole distance: 200 Kms

Road is excellent except for the small 2 Km strech at Hunsur
