This is a Jungle Lodges run Resort at 15 Kms from Hampi. The resort programme includes visit to the famous Vittala Temple complex,irupaksha Temple, Hemakuta Hill, Monolithic Lakhsmi Narasimha, Krishna Temple, Badavilinga and Hampi Bazaar and also safari to Daroji Wildlife Sanctuary.

Hampi is a world heritage site but surprisingly there are few good hotels at Hampi proper. The best option at Hampi is the Karnataka government run hotel or many mid-range hotels at Hospet, a nearby town. I had decided to stay at a hotel in hospet when my friend suggested Sloth Bear Resort run by Jungle Lodges. I have been to Jungle Lodges resort before and have always loved their hospitality. Without a second thought, I booked this resort online from Jungle Lodges website (you get a discount if you book online)
The experience at JLR exceeded my expectations. This is a new property of JLR and quite near to Hampi as well as the Sloth Bear sanctuary. The tariff includes a safari into the sanctuary and also a guided tour to Hampi. So you have 2-in-1 offer of wildlife and heritage. JLR staff as usual are courteous and the guide well informed and trained. Rooms are excellent with all amenities and well maintained. My only regret was that I wanted to spend more time at Hampi to click some photo and try my hand at my new found passion of Photography. The visit to Hampi organized by JLR did not give me much time. I intend to visit Hampi again and stay for three days at KSTDC hotel as it at Hampi Proper. Overall, I would strongly recommend Sloth Bear Resort of Jungle Lodges |
