Orissa has lot to offer to tourists – be it rich milieu of ancient heritage monuments or the golden beaches along its 500 Kms coastline.

The Orissa golden triangle heritage itinerary covering Bhubaneswar - Puri – Konark is a must –do tour. The capital city of Bhubaneswar is home to many ancient temples (Parashurameshwara Temple , Vital Deul ,Mukteswar Temple and the Lingaraja temple are some of the important Bhubaneshwar temples). Bhubaneshwar also houses interesting Museums (Orissa State Museum, Handicraft Museum and the popular tribal museum) that provide insights to rich cultural tradition of Orissa. Puri is home to the famous Jagannath temple. On the first of Hindu month of Ashada, Puri hosts the famous Rath Yatra (Car Festival). Huge crowds throng to Puri for the car festival. etymology of the word ‘juggernaut’ is the Jagganath Car festival. Just 35 Kms from Puri is the sun temple at Konark , a world heritage site.

Orissa also boasts some of the best virgin beaches found on the east coast of India. Some of the spectacular beaches of Orissa - Gopalpur, Puri, Chandipur and Chandrabhaga. Just south of Puri, is the natural wonder of Chilika lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia. Chilika lake supports an unique eco system. During the winter months (November to March), Chilika lake is home to of thousands of migratory birds.
