Jaipur

Jaipur, founded by Jansingh II, is the first planned city of India. The old city was laid in nine-grid pattern as suggested by ancient Indian texts. Jaipur is also called as “Pink City”. There is an interesting tale - apparently, the Maharajah hired a contractor to give the city a fresh coat of paint to welcome Prince of Wales (in 1905). The contractor could only procure pink color in the right quantity to complete the task.

Jaipur as part of the famous Golden Triangle of Indian Tourism has always managed to enthrall the tourists. Numerous forts and palaces are part of the attraction. Read more on Jaipur attractions
