Reaching Harihareshwar:

Harihareshwar is at a distance of 230 kms from Mumbai. Take the Goa highway (NH17) till the town of Mangaon. From Mangoan head towards Harihareshwar beach thru’ the not so well maintained road that passes via Gregaon Phata. Mangoan to Harihareshwar is approximately 40 Kms.

There are plenty of resorts that have come up lately. MTDC Harihareshwar, still remains the best option. You can book directly from MTDC website  

Harihareshwar offers what one would look for in a beach – Lovely palm fringed beach  that is shaped like a bay, cool turquoise green unpolluted waters. You can have a swim after you check with the locals. Some spots are reportedly dangerous. Importantly, the crowds are sparse and that makes it even more interesting. MTDC has also started at water sports centre offering scooter ride and other options.

Harihareshwar Beach

MTDC resort at Harihareshwar has the best location – right on the beach and surrounded by vegetation. Options at MTDC Harihareshwar include cottages, tents and normal rooms. Cottages called “Konkani huts” are remarkable with splendid views and small little balcony. One issue at any accommodation at Harihareshwar are the ants. Ants find their way into the rooms and can be a nuisance. Suggest a liberal spread of Odomas before sleeping.

Beach at Harihareshwar

Close to the MTDC Harihareshwar resort is the famous Kalbhairav temple. Pradakshina round the temple is highly recommended. There is a nice walkway built by the temple management. As you complete the Pradakishna, you get to see some of the most amazing views and you are sure to keep your camera busy. At less than 5Kms from Harihareshwar is the famed Shrivardhan Beach. Shrivardan Beach is unspoilt and excellent. While At Harihareshwar, visit to the ruins of Bankot fort is worthwhile. To reach the fort, you need to take a boat from the village of Bagmandla
