Twin falls of Gaganachukki and Barachukki constitute what is popularly referred as “Shivansamudram Falls”. The falls are spectacular at Monsoons when the river flows at full steam during Monsoons. You can view Gaganachukki from two viewpoints – Near the Hydel project Area and the other from the Dargah. Incidentally, the hydroelectric plant at Gaganachukki is the first in Asia. Mysore rulers to power the Kolar Gold Fields built the hydel plant in 1902.

Barachukki ideal monsson weekend from bangaloreBarachukki is a kilometer away from Gaganachukki and is accessible from the road that leads to the Dargah. Barachukki appears more serene as there are no stone boulders that obstruct the water flow.
