Goa’s Sunburn Music Festival is back

Apart from music, Sunburn promises to offer an experience hard to replicate in other parts of India. The official from the Organizers, Percept Sports and Entertainment, was quoted as saying “This time we have as many as 60 artists performing and a lot many activities like volleyball, rock climbing, mechanical bull, dress up lounge, flea market have been thrown in. We want people to have an experience here - enjoy the electrifying music, good company, indulge in activities and listen to some really good music,”. Enthusiasm is quite clearly visible at the venue as the preparations are underway. Nearly sixty stalls have been booked, many of them by foreigners. It appears that Sunburn will bring back some elements of long-lost ‘Hippy Culture’ that was so closely associated with Goa. Organizers as well as the Goa police are clear that there will be adequate measures to ensure that Sunburn event remains a paradise of "clean" fun.

Popularity of Sunburn Festival is increasing every year. In its earlier edition, DJs like Armin Van Burren, Ferry Corsten, Axwell and BT had participated. This year, three of the performers at Sunburn have nominations for the 2011 Grammy Awards - BT has been nominated for Best Dance/ Electronic Album for These hopeful machines; Nadia Ali has a nomination for Best Remixed Recording for her work remixing Fantasy (Morgan Page Remix) and Axel Hedfors and Dragan Roganovic have nomination for Sweet disposition.. Sunburn Festival or no Sunburn Festival, Goa remains the most popular destination to celebrate Christmas and New Year. For long, the most famous New Year party at Goa used to be the "HillTop Party" held on a hillock between Anjuna and Vagator. Before the police crackdown, the hilltop party used to be non-stop for four days and nights. The other famous New Year parties are at Titos and Zanzi near Baga Beach.
