A: From Bangalore : Driving Directions                          

• Take the Mysore Highway to Mysore.
• From Mysore , take the Ooty road (Yes, it is called Ooty road).
• Nanjagud is the first big town after Mysore. You can avoid the town by taking the bye-pass. (Unless you want to visit the ancient Nanjunda temple at Nanjagud)
• Nanjagud – Gundulpet is a fairly straight road with minimal traffic.
• From Gundulpet, reach Bandipur checkpost.( Bandipur is an excellent wildlife sanctuary famed for ease with which one can sight big animals, mainly elephant. If you have time, you can take a break at Bandipur.)
• The next stretch from Bandipur to Masinagudi is thru thick forest . Plenty of hairpin turns. One needs to drive cautiously.
• Masinagudi to Ooty strectch is again scenic and passes thru Coonor town
